Mission

From source to decision, one community

Fabric brings together roles that used to work apart. The club brings together the people who do that work.

Club Fabric et IA Québec brings together professionals and organizations using Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and AI agents applied to data.

Members help each other through demos, project debriefs and hands-on practices covering ingestion, transformation, modelling, visualization, governance and intelligent querying of data.

The club carries on from the Montreal Modern Excel and Power BI community and broadens its scope.

AI, an official focus of the club

Agents are now part of everyday data work

Power BI and Fabric already include AI. The club also covers how agents are designed and governed, how to use them responsibly, and how they change the way we work.

  • Agents that query Power BI semantic models
  • Copilot in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
  • Copilot Studio and integration with Microsoft 365 or Teams
  • Coding agents for SQL, DAX, Power Query, Python and Fabric pipelines
  • Preparing and governing the data that agents use
  • Security, permissions, cost, answer quality and human accountability
  • Real-world results on productivity gains and observed limits

Session formats

Real projects and live demos over theory

Monthly

The monthly show

What's new in Power BI, Fabric and AI, with short demos, a look at what each change is worth and live Q&A.

From the field

Project of the month

A member walks through a real solution: architecture, choices, challenges and lessons learned.

Peer help

Tech clinic

The group works through a real problem in DAX, Power Query, SQL, Fabric, governance or AI agents.

Advanced

Deep dive

One session, one topic: Direct Lake, capacities, RLS, Real-Time Intelligence, Copilot or agent security.

Hands-on

AI lab

Build or test an agent step by step against a semantic model or a Fabric platform.

After Build, FabCon, Ignite

Conference recap

What Microsoft announced and what it means in practice.

Guest

Meet the product team

A conversation with Microsoft or a product expert, built around questions from the community.

Networking

Afterwork

An informal evening to meet people, start collaborations and welcome new members.

Once a year

The flagship day

Power BI, Fabric and AI together: talks, demos and partners over a full day.

Principles

How the club works

  • Real projects and demos come before theory.
  • Meetups stay beginner-friendly; advanced sessions are clearly flagged.
  • Members are invited to present their projects and suggest topics.
  • Programming is shared among several hosts and speakers.
  • A code of conduct applies to every activity.
  • Rules for sponsorship and commercial content are public and transparent.
